Before imperialism there were many different ethnic and language groups. Their traditional religions were Islam, and Chistianity. Africa had control over trade.
I like the fact that you made it simple yet to the point instead of going on and on until you realized it got too long. It made it easier to understand and not overload my brain with what I need to know and what isn't all that important.
